Throughout this project I've been touched by peoples kindness and generous support, here are a few who deserve a mention:

Jim Parsons - chair making god who lent me the green wood working tools along with his library

Crispen @ Big wood - who supplied the sweet, sweet chestnut

Woodland TV on U tube for their great 8 minute video on shingle making

Gerard Delaney - who lent me his transit van for a lot longer than first thought

One morning I came to Broomhill to find a large tree had fallen on my sculpture in the night.. thankfully real no damage.

Brother in law Martin sorted it quickly with his chainsaw and part of the trunk was used for the bench legs- see later photo

here is some of the frame coming together

each section has a different curve so lots of labeling, lots of jigsaw blades , lots of splinters

it feels quite chunky ..it should survive whatever north devon can throw at it !
